When we first met Alliance, none of us could have imagined the profound impact she would have on our lives. A victim of neglect and a displaced young girl, her determination to make a difference inspired us all. Maman Odette, a dedicated nurse and one of the last members of the Ubuntu team to be with Alliance, held her in her arms as she passed away. Now, thanks to her legacy, we have Alliance House, a safe haven for young girls who are victims of sexual violence, young mothers, and those displaced in Goma.
